It took me a while to process this exhibit, so I am only posting about it now. Seeing Richard Avedon prints hanging on a wall was overwhelming to say the least. I went with a bunch of fellow photographer friends and we all just stood there in awe. ‘Avedon Women’ at the Gagosian Gallery was the first solo exhibit of his work in the LA area since 1976 and I am so grateful for seeing it with my own eyes. Avedon captured all women and he captured them entirely. Besides walls filled with his contact prints; there was his unseen color work! – a dark room with color transparencies mounted in light-boxes. Incredible!
